Thank you, Lord, for this day. May it be used for your glory!
Good morning everyone and welcome to another Thursday update!
This week I wanted to take a quick break from our creative confidence series, but we will get back to that soon!
I wanted to share some exciting news!
We have put our house under contract! Woot woot! We will officially be living in Burnsville, NC! A little mountain town just 30 minutes north of Asheville.
This whole experience has done nothing but show how much God provides. Over and over and over. Just to prove it. Here are several of our specific prayers to God over this time:
For Him to show us the area He wants us to live in
For the perfect home for us to have a family, perhaps an Airbnb, and a good location
For the perfect home to just be waiting for us in the midst of this crazy hectic market
For a good church in the area
Well, He has provided tenfold, answered every single request, and then provided some more after!
We have a home on top of a hill in the midst of the Appalachian mountains. We have gorgeous views!
We have a basement with a private entrance, porch, bathroom, and bedroom, ready for an Airbnb.
The town is close to Asheville, which we love, but the town is a quieter, slower part of the country where we can really get to know people. As introverts, this is a huge plus, especially when thinking of cultivating new relationships and sharing God’s love with the town of Burnsville.
Speaking of the gospel, there is another town right next to Burnsville, called Spruce Pine, which has a solid church called the Grove.
Just to give you an insight into God’s humor, when we first started looking into moving to Asheville our first priority was church. We currently go to the Summit, and they have a church plant in Asheville, which is also called the Grove. However, when we tried to find it, it no longer existed! Super weird.
Well, just a few months later, we find another Grove church and love it!
Burnsville itself was an incredible find. We met our realtor for the first set of tours in Asheville, and after hearing the things we enjoy, she told us to check out Burnsville.
It was one of those “love at first sights,” kind of things for sure!
We have a park 5 minutes down the road by a river you can fish on, 2 rivers in the area for kayaking, tons of hiking, only an hour from skiing at Sugar Mountain, we’ll be 20 minutes from a smaller slope, 10 minutes from hundreds of outdoor climbing routes, and very close to Mt. Mitchell, the tallest peak east of the Rockies.
Last but not least, the house we got was on the market for 4 months! It is a wonderful house and no one really knows why it stayed so long. We don’t want to over-spiritualize things, but at the same time God is sovereign, and it seems like the only explanation is that God held this house for us just like we prayed for.
All that to say…God is good all the time! Praise the Lord!
And just to add one more humorous piece. The sellers have decided to leave us their washer and dryer, which is hilarious timing because ours just broke. Literally doing laundry at a laundromat right now.
Alright, the next update is about Spatium! But now that I’ve said all of that, maybe I’ll wait on the Spatium update until next week! In the meantime, I do have the beginnings of the website you can check out: spatiumstories.com
