Welcome back to another Inspiration Friday! This week we have a plethora of different articles from technical coding tutorials, to free college degrees, and of course more crypto stuff. Let’s jump in!
Build a Simple Blockchain & Cryptocurrency with Python, Django Web Framework & ReactJS
I thought this was a fun tutorial on how to build a brand new cryptocurrency yourself! Not that I did that or plan to. However, I thought it was cool to see how possible it was, as well as doing it with the Django framework, which I’m a fan of.
I also have really wanted to learn ReactJS for a while. For those that don’t know, ReactJS is basically a frontend javascript library. For those that don’t know what that means, ReactJS is a really great way to make your website look pretty.
I have thought about learning more on how to include cryptocurrency integration in my website when I’m ready to sell books so that people can buy them with crypto. This was a helpful article to get some ideas from for that.
BitClout
So I’m not going to lie, none of these are articles. However, they are all part of this new social platform called BitClout! I have a fuller article coming out about BitClout, but for now I thought this was a cool sneak peak.
BitClout is a social platform that is decentralized and powered by a cryptocurrency called, $CLOUT. The whole platform is supposed to rally around supporting creators. One of the ways they do that is by letting people invest in your “creator coin.” Creator coins are something that every user has. People can invest in you and you can invest in others. Just like buying stocks in a company, but now it’s buying coins in a creator.
However, the thing I love about BitClout is that it’s a totally open platform. This means that anyone can expand upon the original platform and create new apps for it. I listed two above. One lets you post polls, which is not a feature in the base app, and the other is a way to promote your creator coin all over the internet other than just on the platform.
Ethereum 2.0 London Upgrade
https://blockworks.co/ethereum-hard-fork-means-lower-gas-fees-and-higher-eth-pricing/
This is the moment so many people have been waiting for! The Ethereum 2.0 upgrade! Both of these articles give a good breakdown of what is going on and why this upgrade is such a big deal. Long story short, we should see lower fees on trading Ethereum and growth in Ethereum prices. I am excited to see where it goes! So far the fees have not decreased (in fact they doubled) but hopefully soon we’ll see some change.
Target to pay 100% of college tuition and textbooks in bid to attract workers
This was a very shocking article to hear about, and I don't know why it’s not being talked about more. Apparently, Target, Starbucks, Chipotle, and Walmart are all offering free college tuition to their workers in a way to get people to apply! That’s huge!
They may not want to raise the minimum wage, but they’ll surely pay for college? I guess that works. Target said they plan to only pay full tuition if the employee is getting a degree that they could use at Target. I guess this is their way of investing in a student in the hopes they stay at Target for the long run. Either way, it will be interesting to see how this goes.
Well, that’s it for the week! Hope you enjoyed it and we’ll talk again soon!
Have a great weekend!
