Thank you, Lord, for this day. May it be used for your glory!
Good morning and welcome back to another edition of Friday Inspiration!
This week I have a whopping 6 articles! However, there are a few of them that go together, so really only 4 major updates. Definitely some crypto stuff, more about Google than you might think, and even more about Wyoming than you’d think too. Let’s jump in!
Wyoming Paving the Way
I have two exciting articles about Wyoming’s crazy initiative and push in the crypto space. The first is an article showing that Wyoming wants to launch its very own stablecoin!

The other is that Wyoming just created the very first American legal DAO! This is huge news!

Ok, so why are either of these important? And what do they even mean?
We’ll take them one at a time. First, what is a stablecoin again?
In the simplest terms, a stablecoin is a digital form of the US dollar that uses blockchain technology to transact with.
So, similar to how Visa credit cards use the Visa network to transact with virtual dollars. However, a stable coin will be more decentralized and is using this newer technology.
No one knows for sure why Wyoming wants to create a statewide stablecoin instead of using the ones that already exist and are widely used. Miami created a cryptocoin for their citizens to use, perhaps Wyoming wants to do something cool too. I’m not sure, but it definitely further increases Wyoming’s place as a very pro-crypto state.
The DAO news, what is that?
DAO stands for Decentralized Autonomous Organization.
Think of a public company, but stockholders can actually make decisions. Essentially, thanks to blockchain and smart contracts, DAO’s can actually make decisions with guaranteed secure voting and decision making by anyone that holds the DAO coin.
Well, Wyoming saw this and decided to set up the legal infrastructure to help these DAOs become legal LLCs in our country! This is amazing! They did that a few months ago, and now they finally have the very first DAO legally approved!
Google has released a new font it says makes reading online easier
https://www.techradar.com/news/google-has-released-a-new-font-it-says-makes-reading-online-easier
This is pretty interesting. Apparently, Google had a team of people researching and innovating on font designs.
Specifically, this team came up with a brand new, never before seen font: Roboto Serif.
This font was designed to be the easiest font to read online. Whether it’s on a phone or a laptop, the majority of our time reading is done online. This new font is supposed to make that even easier than before!
I don’t know if it’s been rolled out to Android devices yet, but I’m excited to try the new font. They don’t really go into details on why it’s such a great font or what it does to help, but I’m still curious to try!
Big Companies Hiring Web3 Engineers
The next two articles are both related to some big companies announcing they are looking into web3 and hiring some senior-level positions to help navigate the space.
The first one is Spotify, which just hired a web3 senior engineer to explore Spotify’s usage of web3.

This could be a big deal if Spotify starts allowing artists to sell music as NFTs or something like that. Hopefully, it will mean Spotify will start giving these artists a bigger cut. If they don’t, then there are already tons of web3 platforms trying to shake up the music industry by giving musicians more control and more money.
The next article is in a similar sector, but a different company. None other than Youtube (owned by Google) who just posted a job listing for a web3 director. Specifically, they want someone with experience trading cryptocurrencies.
This is also very peculiar and it makes me wonder what the higher-ups at Youtube have in mind.
I think both of these articles give more validity to web3, and maybe even show that these companies have some fears about their own longevity if this web3 thing gets too popular.
Google Loses Its Spot as the World’s Most Popular Website

I don’t have a Tik Tok account, I don’t even know what the app looks like. I see a lot of the viral videos on other social media I suppose. I knew they were popular, but I didn’t know they were this popular.
For 11 years Google.com has been the #1 most popular website. 11 years in a row!
Tik Tok has now overtaken the king.
Tik Tok only started in 2016, and that was only in China. It wasn’t released to the world until like 2017, and even then it wasn’t that popular until 2018.
All that to say, it’s crazy how fast things can grow. It took Tik Tok 4 years to achieve multi-billion users and to surpass Google as the most popular website. A title that Google held for 11 years.
Technology can grow very, very fast, and Tik Tok is just one more example that proves that.
That’s it for the week! Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!
