Good morning and welcome back to another edition of Inspiration Friday! This week I have some thoughts about writing, more crypto news (of course), and some exciting news for those cookie lovers out there! Let’s jump into it.
The Most Important Lessons I’ve Learned from My Substack Newsletter Experiment
You may or may not know this, but all these email posts you get from me are from Substack. This was a really fun article to read about a platform I’ve fallen in love with. This article is by Tim Denning, who I’ve mentioned before. He is a very successful online writer and blogger, and so if he approves the use of Substack to build an audience, then that is reassuring. He also gives some great tips, some of which I’m already following, so again another great encouragement!
Salted caramel brownie fans will be 1st in line for new Girl Scout cookie, Adventurefuls
Oh my! This is both great news and terrible news. Great news for our taste buds, but terrible news for our waste line. Tay and I are very excited to try the new cookies; we’re just going to have to have some self-control on how many boxes we buy and how many we eat in one sitting, haha!
Is This the End of Fiat Money After a 50 Year Dominance?
https://link.medium.com/cqsEc72y0ib
These were two interesting articles that talk about the end of fiat money. Fiat money, for those that don’t know, is “inconvertible paper money made legal tender by a government decree.” So the US dollar was made into a fiat currency when Nixon got rid of the gold standard in the 70s. You cannot trade your dollars for gold anymore. With the rise of crypto, people are starting to think it could be the end of these types of currency systems. Fiat in America has only been around for 50 years, and the rates of inflation are getting worse and worse. It doesn’t make it better when we keep printing money and getting into more debt, but on the other hand, debt is the only way these systems can stay in place. Will it be in 5 years? I’m a bit pessimistic about that, but we’ll see. Life moves fast. I can’t believe it’s already September next week, so you never know. Time is weird.
Korporatio — first mover in Wyoming enabling real-world companies on the blockchain
This was another interesting article about crypto. But this time it’s about businesses in Wyoming. Wyoming is becoming the new Deleware in terms of incorporating a crypto business. Senator Lummis in Wyoming is a huge crypto advocate and is creating a state that is a haven for crypto. They are creating a lot of tax incentives (like Deleware) for incorporating there, making it a beautiful place to mine bitcoin. Wyoming is also a great place for bitcoin mining because of its geographical location. They have a very cool climate which helps with cooling the mining rigs, and they also are a great spot for wind and sun energy, which helps reduce the cost and environmental issues with mining. It’s like Wyoming is trying to create a new age gold rush!
Well, that’s about it for the week! Enjoy the weekend and I guess I’ll talk to y’all in September! Crazy!
