Thank you, Lord, for this day. May it be used for your glory!
Good morning and welcome to the 7th edition of Crypto Thursdays!
When was the last time you went to a library?
It’s been a while for me. Probably college.
And even in college, I only went to the library because it had these old-fashioned desks lining the walls where I could study.
The kind of desk with a wall in front of you so it felt like an old wooden cubicle. Very similar to this one below, haha!
If you are thinking I’m describing a very uncomfortable study space, you are right.
It helped me study back then. If I got too cozy, I might would fall asleep or watch YouTube all day, haha!
The other really nice thing about studying in the library is I was pretty much always guaranteed a free desk because I was almost always guaranteed to be alone.
Nobody went in there.
Let alone rent books from there. I think I rented a few books one time and I don’t know if the people at the front desk even knew what to do.
But what if we lived in a world with a new kind of library?
A library not funded by cities, but by the people that used them. A library that wasn’t physical, but completely digital. A library fully decentralized where nobody could tell you what books can or cannot be in the library.
That could be an interesting world. At least in my humble opinion.
These two articles today talk about two interesting technologies that can make that possible.
Recurring Bitcoin Lightning Payments

Ok, so really fast here. Lightning is a layer 2 network for making bitcoin payments.
If you don’t know, payment through the bitcoin network can take up to 30 minutes to actually verify.
That’s pretty long…especially if you are trying to buy groceries or something.
We want things to be instant. Even credit cards seem a little slow to me now.
So what is the solution? Lightning.
Lightning allows us to make bitcoin payments at the speed of light. Gimmicky, but true.
Well, this article breaks down a new proposed ability with Lightning payments.
We can set up subscription payments with bitcoin! People love subscriptions.
Whether you say you hate them, you know you can’t live without them anymore. It’s the way of the world.
And so it should be with crypto payments. Lightning is not the only one, by the way. Word on the street is that DeSo is also unrolling the ability for subscription-style payments in the coming months!
Something that could be interesting to tie into Spatium Stories and potentially launch some sort of Library application!
Did Your Kindle Book Suddenly Disappear?
This is yet another blog from Spatium Stories. This is the first in a mini-series, entitled: “Why We Need NFT Books.”
Give it a read! This one is all about how Amazon once removed a bunch of Kindle books from people’s devices without any notice or warning.
And that’s literally all I’m going to say. You will have to read it yourself.
