Yesterday’s trip was pretty short, which was a needed break. We had a 3-hour drive until Spokane, crossing quickly across the northern bit of Idaho.
Since it was such a short drive and we didn’t have anywhere we needed to be until 7:30pm, we decided to take our time and have a nice relaxing morning in Missoula.
We went to a local bakery and grabbed an assortment of sweet treats and of course coffee. We almost ate at the park by the river, but some thunder and lightning sent us home. Not to worry because before we left the park we were able to witness a surfer on the river!
It’s a pretty neat idea; we’ll have to try it sometime when we’re back in Missoula haha!
All in all, the airbnb in Missoula was pretty nice. We wish the A/C had been turned on before we arrived cause when we got there it said it was 80 inside! However, it did have a washer/dryer so that was nice to be able to clean some clothes.
Anyways, we hit the road for Spokane and even finished the Chamber of Secrets along the way!
The hotel we’re staying at in Spokane is the Historic Davenport and it is incredible! Very fancy inside, nice big king bed, and walking distance to a lot of great restaurants and the river park in Spokane!
We got all checked in and grabbed some lunch and a little burger/brunch place called Incrediburger. The chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit lived up to that name.
It was around this point that 5 days of non-stop driving finally hit us. It was only like 1pm here, but 4pm back home and we were exhausted. The only remaining thing we had for the day was a rehearsal dinner at 7:30pm last night in the hotel.
So we got to spend the next 6.5 hours resting, snacking, napping, and even tried out the swimming pool downstairs.
The dinner was great! It was so much fun to see everyone from the Hunt family and many friends we haven’t seen since our own wedding. It’s hard to believe it’s already been over 6 months since we got married!
It really is just wild how fast time flies. Taylor and I got married 6 months ago; it feels like it was yesterday, and at the same time it feels like an eternity ago.
Dudley has been my friend since kindergarten. He is the one getting married in just a couple hours as I write this. We’ve been friends for about 20 years now (I can’t believe I’m old enough to make that statement), and it’s crazy how far we’ve both come and how different life is now. Time is just funny like that. In one moment it’s instantaneous and in another it stretches forever and ever.
All we can do is live each day for the Lord, seeking Him always, enjoying Him always, and hoping for our life eternal with Him. I’m so thankful I get to spend each day on this earth with Taylor; it’s such a blessing and gift from God!
Loved that surfer on the river. Which river? Loved that you got to see the Hunt family and the wedding!
Nice
