Thank you, Lord, for this day. May it be used for your glory!
Good morning everyone and welcome to another edition of Friday Inspiration! This week I have some neat articles I’m excited to share with y’all. One is a theological one I found very fascinating (though as a warning it was pretty long), I have warning message to Android users who like to play dumb games, and of course I have a couple of crypto articles. Let’s jump on in!
A Glorious Doctrine with a Silly Name
https://credomag.com/article/a-glorious-doctrine-with-a-silly-name/
This was a really cool article covering a doctrine called: extra calvinisticum. I don’t know a ton about all the names and things within the theological studies realm. I think it’s all interesting and love studying God (which is what theology means) but I don’t know all the vocab, haha!
Anyways, this whole doctrine covers the idea of how Christ came to this earth as fully God, part of the Trinity, but also fully man.
We knew in Hebrews that Christ can relate to our human weakness in every way, that he knows all the temptations we face, and more so because he never fell into sin. He continued to fight temptation until he died.
However, we also know he was fully God. He could have summoned legions of angels many times to save him. He holds the world together. He is the word and was there at the beginning and will persist forever as our high priest and king.
I think I often take this truth at what it is and just trust in the Lord, praise Him for sending Christ, praise Christ for His great sacrifice, and run to Christ in times of need.
This article does a great job at actually breaking down and discussing what it means for Christ to have been fully man AND fully God at the same time.
Over nine million Android devices infected by info-stealing trojan
For you Android users, watch out. To be honest, I’m probably not talking to many of y’all, but I’m still throwing it out there.
Apparently, there is a slew of hacks going on from these Russian and Chinese games. They have infected over 9 million people! I’m not sure what all info they are stealing, but they can get your exact GPS coordinates and search histories and stuff. I’m sure if they wait long enough they can snag credit card info too, and who knows what else.
Stay safe, stay smart.
This goes for iPhone users too :p
Don’t think just cause it’s Apple you are immune to viruses and hacks. That’s silly.
The bottom line is don’t download sketchy apps no matter how fun they look, haha! Also if you download an app and it starts asking permission for access to everything on your phone, that’s a huge red flag.
Some apps need certain permissions to location or other things to work. Like Google maps needs your location to give you directions. That just makes sense. However, most games don’t need access to Location, Phone, Texting, and everything in your phone. Be wary of those attackers.
El Salvador plans first 'Bitcoin City', backed by bitcoin bonds
If y’all didn’t know, El Salvador is like the king of Bitcoin right now. To the degree that I think one day, they could be considered one of the richest countries in the world. If bitcoin becomes globally adopted.
They keep buying bitcoin on every dip, they have already built dozens of brand new schools with their bitcoin profits, and have even dabbled into using volcanic energy to mine bitcoin.
Now they have just announced the first Bitcoin City!
I’m not exactly sure on all the plans yet or what this will entail. But the city itself will be fully funded by bitcoin-backed bonds. So an entire city will be built and run by bitcoin. That’s wild! I think the number of tourists in El Salvador will increase exponentially because of this, which is genius. I mean listen to this:
“Likening his plan to cities founded by Alexander the Great, Bukele said Bitcoin City would be circular, with an airport, residential and commercial areas, and feature a central plaza designed to look like a bitcoin symbol from the air.”
That’s pretty cool!
Photoshop will get a ‘prepare as NFT’ option soon
I have talked a lot about NFTs before and I will talk about them once again. Most complaints I see with NFTs are the classic “why would someone spend $40K on a jpeg?” Or “I can just right click and save the image, what’s the point?”
That’s fair.
No one would pay that for just an image you can just copy.
The truth is, people aren’t paying for the image itself. They are paying for the ownership. That’s what an NFT really is. It proves that you owned the original.
However, there is another problem at hand.
Let’s say my NFT project brand is not very well known, but my artwork is really cool. What’s stopping a really famous NFT brand from copying my images and selling them as their own NFTs?
Uh oh.
The original invention of the NFT solves the issue of proving ownership, but it left out proving who the original creator was.
Well, Adobe is here to help. Most artists use Adobe software to design a lot of their NFT digital artwork. Adobe is working on creating a new feature to tie your Adobe account to the actual NFT when you mint it.
This means the artist of the image can now prove they are the creator of the NFT!
Whoo! That’s it for this week! I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see y’all next week!
