Good morning everyone and welcome to another Inspiration Friday! This week there was a lot of news and some crazy stories for sure. I mean Facebook changed their name to Meta? We won’t go there now, but still...crazy news indeed. I do have a couple techy news articles I want to share, and then I also have some actual inspiration articles too! Let’s jump in!
Bible Memory Brings Reality to Life
https://www.desiringgod.org/articles/bible-memory-brings-reality-to-life
I loved this! I definitely fall into that category of futility. I get super bummed over all the verses I once had memorized but don’t any more. This was a great reminder that scripture memory is so much more than just memorizing for the sake of memorizing. That scripture memory is truly about meditating on God’s word and letting it envelop our hearts.
I can definitely attest to this too. I feel like when I memorize a passage of scripture I gain so much insight into what it means and how it pertains to my own life. On top of falling into a deeper love for the Lord too. Tay and I have gotten back into weekly memorization and I definitely encourage you to as well!
U.S. regulators exploring how banks could hold crypto assets - FDIC chairman
This is some huge Bitcoin news! In fact, there has been so much Bitcoin news lately it’s crazy. El Salvador keeps buying the dip as the price goes down from all the people trying to do these leverage trades and losing their money. If I understand it correctly.
But this news stood out the most to me. The FDIC is actually looking into how they might allow banks to offer crypto holdings. Like you could buy and hold Bitcoin in your bank! Just like if you stored physical gold in your bank. That’s wild! It will be even crazier if they get some regulations to offer FDIC insurance on Bitcoin. If that happens...wow...I mean that would be crazy awesome!
McDonald’s enters strategic partnership with IBM to automate drive-thru lanes
I thought this article was pertinent for many reasons. First of all, it involves my current company and a childhood favorite restaurant teaming up, so that’s super exciting! But also it pairs really well with my article the other week on automation. I posed the question of what will happen when robots and AI start replacing our jobs...well, here we go. Labor shortage? We’ll just replace labor with AI. That seems to be McDonald’s answer at least.
It’s Never Too Late to Climb That Mountain
Ok, if you don’t think this story is inspirational then I don’t know how to help you. I mean a 70 year old climbing El Capitan is awesome! She didn’t even start climbing until she turned 60! She obviously had a world class teacher, but still! All I can say is I agree, it’s never too late to learn a new skill or start a new hobby or explore something new.
I could talk for a while on how epic this article was, but I want y’all to read it yourself this time.
Alrighty, that’s it! Hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll talk to you next week!
