Good morning everyone and welcome to another edition of Inspiration Friday! This is it, week 20! Wow! I can’t believe I’ve been at this for 20 weeks already. This week I have 2 technical articles and 2 about some upcoming movies that (at least for me) bring back some fond childhood favorites! Let’s jump in!
Web3 Will Not Be Built on Smart Contracts

So this article is pretty in depth, but it gives a really amazing usecase of the DeSo blockchain, which I’ve talked a lot about. I talked about it just yesterday, in fact. In the article, Nader (the guy who founded DeSo) talks about several other popular blockchains out there in use today. Many of which people are asking to build social apps on top of. Nader does an amazing job of explaining why social apps will inevitably fail on all these other blockchains compared to DeSo.
Why?
Because all the other blockchains out there are general purpose. DeSo was designed from the ground up with social media applications in mind. So the way they store social media data is more sophisticated and fine tuned, lowering costs by a drastic amount.
If you take anything away, checkout this picture. It says at least a thousand words:
Miami to Give ‘Bitcoin Yield’ From MiamiCoin to Its Citizens
This is pretty crazy news! So Miami (if y’all didn’t know) is like the leading city when it comes to bitcoin adoption. They even created their own crypto currency called Miamicoin, which they have been able to invest and yield like $20 million. That yield is now going to be transferred into bitcoin and then to Miami residents. This initiative will also mean thousands of people will be taught how to download a wallet and start earning bitcoin for the first time!
'Home Sweet Home Alone' weakly revives the kid fantasy (again) for Disney+

I don’t know how I feel about this movie. We’re gonna watch it, but like, the first two Home Alones are the only ones. If it’s not Kevin Mcallister, then it ain’t Home Alone. We’ll still “give it a whirl” as Kevin would say. Who knows...maybe Disney will surprise up. My hopes are not high, though.
The ‘real Buzz Lightyear’ goes to infinity and beyond in Pixar’s first Lightyear trailer

This movie is also another one I’m skeptical on. The animation style looks cool, but definitely different from Toy Story. Though, I guess that was the whole point. If Zurg isn’t an enemy I will probably be upset, haha!
Also, I read someone else’s post and I totally agree with this. If Pixar was going to do a Toy Story spinoff, they really should have done Woody’s Roundup. That was such a cool reveal in Toy Story 2 and has a ton of potential, but I guess western movies aren’t popular? But space is all the rage so they need to do that? I don’t know. Woody’s Roundup would be a fun movie.
Alright! That’s it for this week! Remember, I launched a new cool short story vault called Spatium on DeSo. You can get a free copy of my short story compilation, Life or Death in there! And today I’m actually dropping the newest edition to the vault, The Sanctuary Up North! If you wanna get a key to the vault, be sure to read this post:
Have a great weekend!
