Good morning everyone and welcome to another Thursday update! This week, instead of giving you a new article or opinion, I figured I’d give everyone a quick life update on Tay and me.
Whoo, it feels like it’s been a whirlwind these past few weeks. All good things, for the most part, praise God! Just busy, though.
Tay and I have looked at our calendar and we have exactly 0 free weekends for the rest of the year! It’s wild. Granted, they’re filled with all the fun things we’re excited about and most of them are just like a Saturday plan or Friday night plan, etc. So we still have free time to rest on those weekends, which is oh so important.
But still, it just seems daunting, but I suppose all we can do is take it one day at a time.
These past few weeks have seemed busier, though. We’ve only been rock climbing a couple of times and our workout days have decreased, but it’s all still good. We have not and will not ever sacrifice our time with the Lord every morning, so that has still been thriving and awesome. Our small group with church is going great and we actually have enjoyed that it’s staying true to the name, “small” group. We have 3 consistent couples going and a few others that come when they can.
The House Hunt
As far as news for us, we are still looking at houses in Asheville and are still planning to move next year. We need to find a realtor soon because the time to make serious inquiries is sneaking up on us rapidly. We would love to find a home in the river arts district where we can walk out our door and take a stroll by the river in the evenings or grab a taco at White Duck Taco.
Plus we would be within 10 minutes of everything we want to do and downtown Asheville. That’s the goal! A fun bonus is it would be a great Airbnb down the road, or potentially sooner if the home had a separate living area setup (which a lot already do). We would still appreciate y’all’s prayers over this decision as it gets closer and closer! And we’ll keep y’all updated too!
First Book Released
As you guys saw, my first official book has been released! Life or Death is out!
I’m actually wrapping up the final confirmations to get it on Amazon! This means it’s now available in 4 formats! As an NFT, PDF, Print, or Kindle:
NFTs: https://davidjwriter.nftz.zone/
PDF: https://davidjwriter.gumroad.com/l/lifeordeath
Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09KCGHPG2
** I haven’t actually tested the print edition yet to make sure it’s solid. I plan to soon!
It’s very exciting and finally gives me time to start editing my novella!
As many of y’all know, I’ve been a big fan of Bitclout recently. I have been releasing these stories as NFTs on there and have now released special editions of the book on the platform as NFTs too! I even interviewed on a morning show of a pretty big name on Bitclout to talk about it! It’s been a blast and look forward to seeing if I can actually sell anything, haha!
More Writing News: Vaults?
In other writing news, Bitclout has an app called Flickapp. To understand this, I need to dive a little more into Bitclout really really fast.
The revolutionary thing about Bitclout is that it’s a decentralized social media platform built on top of a blockchain called DESO. Following? If not, think of DESO like all the foundation.
The decentralized piece means that anyone in the world can build an app on top of that foundation and since they all share the same foundation, they all have the same profiles, data, etc. Not even Facebook does that. Your Facebook account can be “tied” to Instagram, but it’s not like your followers carry over. They are separate.
So DESO is the foundation and Bitclout is an app that builds on top of that. A totally different set of developers made a mobile app called Flickapp that also builds on top of the DESO foundation. This means it works, runs, and feels like a Bitclout mobile app, but it’s made by a totally different development team. Revolutionary!
Maybe I’m the only one that thinks that’s cool, idk.
Anyways! The Flickapp team released a new innovative feature on their app called Vaults. All a vault is a place where the vault owner can post premium content. The only way to access said premium content is by purchasing a vault key (sold as an NFT). Those keys can be traded to other people later on too.
I have decided to use the Flickapp vaults to release a brand new vault called Spatium.
Every month I plan to release a new story in the vault, which will be used to compile into a short-story compilation every year!
If that’s something you’re interested in (and you don’t want/don’t understand DESO), I have been brainstorming how I can also do this through Substack paid subscriptions as well. (Of course, family members would get a free membership).
But if you’re interested in learning more about Flickapp and seeing what that vault is all about, you can check it out here:

To get access, you do need to create an account on DESO (which gets you an account on Bitclout, their new main app Diamond, Flickapp, and many others building on top of that DESO foundation). If you are interested in that, they just launched a referral system that will give you $25 to get started on the platform.

Saving the Best for Last!
In other awesome news, Tay is learning how to do some embroidery stuff and it’s really really cool! She has done some personal embroideries for our dog bandanas and put together some dish towels for wedding presents.
Recently, she’s started learning how to design her own patterns! There are some really cool ideas she has and I’m super pumped to see what she creates.
Spoilers...custom Christmas ornaments might be on the horizon. Also probably an Etsy store?? We’ll keep y’all updated for sure!
I’m trying to think about anything else going on. I mean we both have some work things that are exciting and busy, but no one wants to hear about work right now, haha. Maybe I’ve taken enough of your time already so I’ll stop rambling and let y’all go for the day!
As always, I appreciate you guys and if you have any prayer requests, let me know! Until next time!
